Foster families are members of our rescue team who are looking to provide love, stability, and a temporary home to a foster dog until a permanent (forever) home is found.
We always have a need for BIG dog and Pit-friendly fosters. If you have a passion for rescue, Pitties, and a little dog savvy, please step up to foster a pup in need.
Thank you for your interest in fostering for Worthy Dog Rescue. Fostering is the backbone of rescue, and fosters are core members of our rescue team. We can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes. Fostering involves opening your heart and home to a dog in need and giving them a safe place to land and some TLC until they’ve found their new family. Some foster dogs are easier than others, but all bring great joy and the reward of knowing that you played a part in saving that dog’s life and helping them find a loving home.
Worthy Dog Rescue does NOT have a local facility. When we rescue a dog, we need to have a safe place for them to go so they can begin their transition to home life. Foster families not only provide a loving, temporary home for a dog, but they are also our insight into the dog’s personality and behavior. As the dog realizes they are safe and cared for, they begin to trust and open up and become part of your family. You will get to know them, what they need, their level of socialization, and the type of home and family that will best suit them. All foster dogs need to be kept inside and treated as a member of the family.
Worthy Dog Rescue will provide veterinary care and basic supplies (gear and monthly preventatives) for your foster dog, and you will provide food, housetraining, and a loving home environment. We make adoption decisions as a team and the foster parent will have a voice in choosing their foster dog’s forever home.
